Take Rt. 97 N toward Hancock. This route is designated as The Scenic
Byway.
From Boston & NE (3-6 hrs)
Take Rt. 84S to 17W in New York State to Hancock at Exit 87a or Exit 87.
From Scranton (1 hr)
Take Rt. 81N to Rt. 374 (Elk Mountain - exit 63). Take Rt. 374E to Rt.
171N.
Take Rt. 171N to Rt. 370E to Rt. 191N and follow until you see the
bridge going into Hancock, NY (about 1/2 mi).
From Philadelphia area (3
hrs)
Take N.E. ext. of PA Turnpike to Rt. 81 above Scranton, PA. Follow
directions from Scranton above.
From Central or Western PA
Take Rt. 80E to 81N to Scranton. Follow directions from Scranton above.
From Baltimore/Washington DC

Take I-95 to Rt. 476 in Philadelphia to N.E ext. of PA Turnpike to Rt.

Top Cabin:
The road up the mountain to the mountain cabins is a little rough but
any vehicle will be able to drive up at a slower pace. It is about a
one-mile drive from the bottom of the mountain to where your cabin is
located. Once you are there the view is amazing.
(From New York) Take NY Thruway to 17 West to Exit 87A. Take Left
off Exit, Take the first road to your right (Lower Cadosia Road). About
1/4 mile down Lower Cadosia Road, take the left at Bass’ Mountain Cabins
Sign. Go to the top of the mountain (9/10 mile). The first cabin you
come to is #3. Cabin #4 is located straight up the road beyond #3. To
get to cabins #1 and #2 take a left by cabin #3. Cabin #1 is on the
right and #2 is on the left.

Directions to Golf Course
Cabin:
(From New York) Take I-87 North to 17 West via Exit 16. Then take
exit 87a. Take a left off the exit and go about 1 mile into town. You
will make a left on to Route 97 South, just before the Valero gas
station. Take 97 South 8 miles and on your left you will come to Newman
Road and you will see a sign, which reads French Woods Golf & Country
Club. CABINS 1 and 2: Make a left onto the road by sign called Newman
Road. Go about ¼ mile and on the right you will see two cabins; the
first is #1 and the second is #2. CABINS 3-9: Stay on 97 past the sign
about ¼ mile and you will see two cabins on your left with a sign on the
pole for #3 and #4. Turn left there for Cabins #3 and #4. 500 ft past
that on Rt 97, you will see a sign on the pole to your left for Cabins
#5-#10. Turn left at the pole. Cabin #5 is the first cabin to your left.
Continue straight up the hill for cabins #6-#9, and follow the signs to
your cabin number.
